When you want to send an attachment by e-mail, it’s enabled by default that it generates a secure password. Do you always want to enter a password yourself? Then it is easier to turn off the automatic password generation.
But beware: it is usually safer to automatically generate a password. Because this password consists of letters, numbers and special characters; this password is not easy to guess. For example, an automatically generated password looks like this:! H: AwD @ + & D} (
Do you want to change this anyways? Which can. For this you will have to adjust a setting in the Windows registry. You can find the register here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ WOW6432Node \ AttachingIT
MSI Parameter: AUTOGENERATEDPASSWORDS
Reg Key: AutoGeneratedPasswords
Default value: 1
Description: This value refers to the automatic generation of passwords for password protection
of a file. If this value is set to "1", passwords will be automatically generated. With the value '0' this is disabled and you will have to generate passwords yourself.
