In this article, we discuss the most common feature flags. Feature flags are settings that we (Smartlockr) can activate on our end for you. These special settings have a significant impact on your users, so Smartlockr can enable them for you.
Some features require configuration adjustments to function properly. For example, these feature flags require the use of our SMTP Relay, otherwise, they cannot be applied.
Subject Line in Notification Emails
When this feature is enabled, we display the subject of the original email in Smartlockr’s notification emails. By default, this feature is turned off because the subject may contain sensitive information. However, it is possible to enable it if desired.
Smartlockr AI
Would you like to use our Smartlockr AI? We can activate this for you. With our AI, you can extend regular content policy rules by also considering the context, not just the content. Once the feature is enabled, you can manage which AI rules you want to apply and whether they should apply to all users or specific users. Our AI can only be applied to messages that have not gone through our plugin, as these otherwise already contain information about the encryption to be applied. Our AI operates from Smartlockr’s servers, so you can be sure your data is safe.
SMTP Relay Split
If you use our SMTP Relay and it is set up to send all email to Smartlockr, you can choose to send email that does not need Smartlockr encryption back to your own mail server. This way, you deliver the email yourself instead of Smartlockr. To make this possible, you need to create an incoming connector within Exchange so we can safely send the email back. When the connector has been created and active, we can turn on the feature for you.
Microsoft Sensitivity Labels
Do you use Microsoft Sensitivity Labels? Then you can also use them for Smartlockr if desired. The advantage of sensitivity labels is that they are part of Microsoft software, so no additional software is needed. This option requires an implementation to ensure that Smartlockr can recognize the labels and apply them to messages that pass through Smartlockr.
Inbox to Inbox
With Inbox to Inbox, you can securely send regular email to your recipients. The recipients authenticate with 1FA or 2FA as usual and then receive the email as a normal email, instead of in a Smartlockr channel. This feature is applicable to channels of the type secure file and secure message, and for email that remains under 20MB. If an email (including attachments) is larger than 20MB, Smartlockr will still create a channel, as the email cannot be sent otherwise. No technical adjustments are needed for this feature.
